Planted this Echinopsis crassicaulis about 3 years ago. It enjoys having it's roots in the ground and is growing very well. We sell smaller ones of these but no one has ever bought one 😬

Just finished my Cactus flower video for the year. Hope you enjoy it 🙂

Another cactus that has been living outside all year round here on top of the North Downs in Kent. Oreocereus celcianus is reputedly hardy down to minus 18 C. It's more likely the damp in this country that will kill cacti off rather than the cold, so the outside bed is purely gritty sand which drains pretty well.

I'm sure I picked off all the seed pods from the Mammillaria bocasanas a few weeks ago. They seem to spring up overnight. Most things are quiet in the cactus house at the moment. A few succulents are putting some buds out but apart from a bit of potting up there won't be much going on till the days start getting longer.

Sedum stahlii occurs in Mexico in the northeastern portion of the Sierra Madre del Sur and on the adjacent slopes of the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt, it also occurs on rocky slopes at Esperanza. This one likes flowering in December 🙂
